The Challenge
The North Idaho Eye Institute project created a tall order based on the quick turnaround schedule. This project was a full remodel of an existing building and the timeframe when this work needed to be completed put us and our team into a time crunch that required maximum efficiency to meet the requirements. The scope of work also included many custom fabrications which only added to the complexity of the project and would require further time to fabricate.
Our Solution
We met as a team to discuss the uphill battle we would be fighting on this project given the timeframe to complete, so we went to work and implemented overtime to help push this to the finish line. This was only part of the solution to getting this project done for the owner. We also had additional assistance in our drafting and engineering department, as well as purchasing, to make the process of procuring materials, building engineering packages, shop drawings, etc., go through our office and shop much quicker than would normally be expected or possible.
The Results
At the end of this project, the owner was able to open the doors to the public to start seeing patients in a complete and modern environment. We met the goal that we set out to overcome as a team and we are pleased with the results. There was a great sense of accomplishment for this project due to the understanding of what it took to get it to where the owner needed us to be. This project tested not only our capability, but also our efficiency and we can proudly state that we were able to utilize both to their full potential without fail.
