The Challenge

The most challenging aspect of this project was the multi-colored Children's Area, which showcases green, blue, and yellow veneer work, inset under a soffit with blue paneling above. The soffit was framed and we had to template the top, bottom, and slopes before we could fabricate veneer frames. This activity took many hours to complete and the engineering alone for this part of the project took several weeks to get right. It was a complicated unit that was only part of a project filled with cabinets, wall panels, and trim.

Our Solution

We dedicated the time that was needed to accurately produce what is seen in the final result. It took a team to make this come to reality and hours of coordination to draft, design, and manufacture. We worked closely with the superintendent and general contracting team to provide the owner with a fun and enjoyable reading area for children.

The Results

The end result of all of the cumulative work and time that was put in is easy to see. The product looks amazing and functions as intended. We overcame additional construction barriers that had the potential to make this a much more difficult goal to accomplish. However, at the end of the day when the building opened to the public, our accomplishment was there to show off the capabilities of our skilled and capable craftsmen.
