The Challenge
We came across many obstacles during this project including: schedule, material delays, labor shortages and design conflicts. The project consisted of custom residential plastic laminate and stained veneer casework. Making sure the design was what the owner and designer expected was challenging at times but we were able to overcome the hurdles to get to where we wanted and needed to be. The project, being residential, was different than our usual commercial and institutional casework lines, so this project challenged us to take on something new. The product and finishes speak for themselves and we hope the owners of these townhomes enjoy them as much as we do.
Our Solution
Due to the massive amount of trade and scope interaction, we hit the project site hard with many rounds of dimensioning to make sure each item fit as it should. We had ongoing site supervision and spent many hours going over the fine details of the project. We made sure to check specifications of items that would integrate with our casework, such as: microwaves, refrigerators, ovens, etc. All of these items were drawn to scale and checked for fit in our drafting and programming software prior to fabrication. This ensured the proper cabinet fit the space, every time. Our dedication and time that was committed to this project was truly substantial, but we know it significantly contributed to the final product.
The Results
When the project was complete, we were able to take a step back, a short breath, and enjoy the hard work that our entire team put into these townhomes. This project took everyone to finish, and we couldn't have done it without 100% participation. We enjoyed the residential aspect and the new challenges that were upon us, and we look forward to having more experience with the next residential project that comes our way.
